The Cluster of Excellence CLICCS and the Earth and Society Research Hub (ESRAH) now have a new home. Together with colleagues from e.g. oceanography and the social sciences, plus the Office Team, the researchers have now moved to the Haus der Erde (“House of the Earth”), where they can pursue research and learn together under the same roof. Over the next several years, further departments will join them.
The building offers a unique architecture, with a spatial structure that promotes open exchanges: the offices and meeting rooms are distributed in rings around a central atrium that combines multiple levels. In addition, open areas and working zones for students on the gallery levels are designed to promote group work and exchanges.
“The move to the Haus der Erde is a real starting signal. The new, modern offices have added a new dynamic in our day-to-day work. After years of waiting, we’re finally all working in the same place – and you can immediately feel the new energy. I have no doubt: in the years to come, this closeness will translate into valuable new impulses for CLICCS,” says Prof. Johanna Baehr, Speaker for the Cluster of Excellence.
