Eduardo Gresse is the newest member of the CLICCS Synthesis Team. Together with Christopher Hedemann and Jan Petzold, the brand-new Ph.D. (Sociology) is working to prepare the first Hamburg Climate Futures Outlook – in close cooperation with the researchers from the Cluster of Excellence. “I look forward to taking on this challenging task, and to addressing the question of which future climates are possible and plausible,” says Gresse, originally hailing from Brazil, who previously conducted research at Universität Hamburg’s Center for Sustainable Society Research (CSS).
The Hamburg Climate Futures Outlook is a new report that will systematically analyze the research finding produced by CLICCS, and will reflect expertise in the social sciences and natural sciences alike. “In my view, the report is an innovative and necessary project. The goal is to share findings on various aspects of climate change and its consequences with both the research community and the public,” says Gresse – who, thanks to his international efforts in the area of sustainable development, has the ideal qualifications for bringing together different interest groups and decision-makers.
