C: Sustainable Adaption Scenarios
Publications
Leaders: Jana Sillmann (UHH), Corinna Schrum (UHH/HZG)
Theme C focuses on coupled human–environment dynamics on a regional level, where climate change becomes visible for humans and where sustainable adaptation can be realized by local actors. Theme C utilizes the developed multi-sectoral process-based knowledge for the generation and assessment of concrete sustainable adaptation scenarios considering further, partly competing, partly supporting governance objectives. Theme C will furnish Theme B with insights about trade-offs and synergies between various adaptation and mitigation goals. C returns information on regional changes in greenhouse gas emissions stemming from climate change and land management practices to A and B for improved global climate scenario generation. The very concrete requirements induced by generating plausible regional adaptation scenarios can be expected to co-generate further requests on Themes A and B during CLICCS.
