The project C3 performed extensive interview studies on climate change perception and climate change adaptation in the project areas of nature-based costal protection, brown shrimp fisheries and eutrophication in the river Elbe. Results were discussed with all actors involved in 10 discussion panels and provided a thematic grounding for concrete case studies to be worked on in the scenario workshops in 2024. The project team is currently preparing and organising the workshops to be held in spring and autumn 2024.
The work of our project "Sustainable Adaptation Scenarios for Coastal Systems" will be carried out in the context of three thematic case studies: shrimp fisheries on the East Frisian coast, eutrophication in the Elbe Estuary and nature-based coastal protection on the North Frisian Islands of Amrum and Föhr.
A number of novel modeling tools for estuarine systems and the coastal ocean have also been developed.
